Language Learning Round Table

Topic | Pathways to Impact: Connecting Research, Innovation, and Society

Date | Wednesday, 24 June 2026

This Round Table will explore how research on second language acquisition, bilingualism, and multilingualism can generate meaningful impact across education, policy, and industry. The session will examine how scientific insights can inform inclusive educational practice and policy development while also shaping innovation in areas such as digital learning, speech technology, and AI-driven assessment.

The discussion will bring together diverse perspectives to address the challenges and opportunities of translating research into practice, with a focus on mechanisms for knowledge exchange, cross-sector collaboration, and the visibility of language research beyond academia. By fostering dialogue between researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, the Round Table aims to identify practical pathways through which SLA and bilingualism research can contribute to real-world change.
